Pankaj Singh was familiarized with the world of politics at an early age. When Shri Rajnath Singh was contesting from Haidargarh in Barabanki district, Pankaj Singh used his analytical skills, learnt while studying MBA, in the elections to understand the needs and aspirations of the people. But at that time, he had no intentions to join politics. However, he remained active in social work. Meanwhile, many people around him started advising him to enter active politics. But it was only after interacting with people from all walks of life and listening to their problems that he realized that politics was the medium through which he could do a lot for the people of his country.
Soon after, Pankaj Singh became active in the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2004, he became a member of the State Executive of BJP’s Yuva Morcha. In 2007, he became a member of the State Executive of BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit. That year, his name was also announced as the party candidate from the Chiraigaon assembly constituency in Varanasi. But following his father’s advice that he should work in the party for some more years before entering electoral politics, Pankaj Singh decided not to contest the elections. In 2010, he became the Secretary of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh and was later elevated to the post of General Secretary. This is his fourth term as the General Secretary of BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit.
Before his election to Legislative Assembly, Pankaj Singh worked for the welfare of farmers and youth. In BJP's ‘Gaon Chalo’ campaign, he visited more than 100 villages to understand the problems of the people, especially the farmers. After returning from the campaign, he studied many books and reports on the subject of farmer distress. Issues related to development of farmers and agrarian class has always been his utmost priority apart from encouraging youth to contribute in nation building.
While visiting the remotest of areas in Uttar Pradesh, he urged the youth to come together and become the bearers of change.
Pankaj Singh, who is a follower of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and reads his works for inspiration, believes that if the youth of the country makes a firm resolve there will be no delay in turning the country towards the new heights of development.
Firm believer in concept of ‘Antyodaya’ propounded by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Ji, Pankaj Singh is working towards the realization of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s dream of ‘New India’ that is defined by the BJP’s motto of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’
